Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026 · The Arabic version is the authoritative one.
Saeed is a daily challenge and habit app. This page explains exactly what data we collect, why, where it is stored and how you control it. We do not sell your data and we use no third party analytics or advertising.
1. What we collect
- Account: email, username and an optional avatar, to sign you in and identify you.
- Your habits: task names, times, your daily completion log and your streak. The core of the app, visible to nobody but you.
- Your location: used only if you turn prayer times on yourself, to calculate your prayer times and qibla where you are. We do not keep a history of your movements and we do not share it with anyone.
- Messages: your conversations with an accountability companion and your personal notes, readable only by the parties to them.
- Social data: friends, join requests and your public profile (name, picture, streak and completion rates, never your task names) if you leave "show me in members" on.
- Notifications: your browser's own alert identifier and your preferred language, used to send your reminders and, now and then, a short message from the Saeed team about an update or a fix. We send no ads, and we never share this identifier.
- Sadaqah challenge: if you join a circle we record whether you gave on a given day, never any amount, and no money passes through the app.
- Google Calendar (optional): connecting your account and reading your events when you ask. You can disconnect at any time.
- Outlook Calendar (optional): connecting your Microsoft account and reading your events when you ask. You can disconnect at any time.
- Apple Calendar on iPhone (optional): your events are read on your device itself to show them beside your tasks, and are never sent to us.
- Aggregate usage: counters carrying no personal identifier, such as how many people started a challenge today. They cannot be linked back to you.
What we never collect
- No third party analytics or advertising tools.
- We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- We do not read your task content for reminders. The reminder server sees the number of remaining tasks, not their names. If you use the chat with Saeed and agree, your message and today's tasks pass through our server to Anthropic and we don't keep them; we only keep a daily message count for the usage limit.
Google user data
If you connect Google Calendar yourself, Saeed requests two read-only permissions: reading the events of your calendars, and reading your list of calendars so you can choose which ones appear.
- Use: we show your events beside your tasks on the Today screen, and turn an event into a task only when you ask, after which it is a normal task of yours. We never change or delete anything in your calendar.
- Storage: we do not keep your events on our servers; they are fetched when you open the app and cached on your device only. The access key to your calendar is kept in a locked database that only our server can read.
- Sharing: we never sell or share Google data, and never use it for advertising or to train AI models.
- Deletion: disconnecting the calendar in Settings deletes the key and revokes access at Google, and deleting your account deletes everything.
Saeed's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
2. Where your data is stored
We use Google Firebase for authentication and storage, with the database hosted in Belgium inside the European Union. Your data is therefore transferred outside Saudi Arabia to be stored and processed there, in Google data centres governed by the European data protection regulation (GDPR).
3. Who your data is shared with
- Google Firebase for hosting, authentication and the database.
- Google Calendar API only if you connect your account yourself.
- Microsoft Graph only if you connect your Outlook account yourself.
- Anthropic (the Claude model), only if you use the chat with Saeed and agree inside the app: it receives your message and the recent chat, your tasks for today and tomorrow, your prayer times, your first name and city, and your streak length, so Saeed can understand you and plan your day. It does not use them to train its models. Reminders and your day summary in the chat run on your device without sending anything.
- The payment provider at the moment of purchase, handling your card details directly. We never store any card data.
- The people in your conversations see only what you share with them inside the app.
4. Your rights and controls
- Access and edit: your habits and profile are visible and editable inside the app.
- Hide your public profile: turn off "show me in members" in settings.
- Disconnect Google Calendar at any time, which also revokes the permission at Google.
- Delete your account entirely from inside the app: from your profile, which permanently removes all your data without contacting anyone. You may also email us below.
5. Children
The app is not directed at anyone under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn of such an account we delete it.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update it, and the date above shows the last change. Material changes are announced inside the app.
